INCLUSION & SEND

In order to meet the standards expected of BSO (British Schools Overseas), CIS (Council of International Schools) and MOEHE of Qatar (Ministry for Education and Higher Education), Park House English School follows the guidelines as outlined in the revision to the UK SEND Code of Practice 2015, UN Convention on the Right of the Child (42), UN Sustainable Development Goal 4 – Quality Education and Qatar National Vision 2030.

In our multicultural and diverse community, every child’s well-being and progress are at the heart of our educational programmes. Our PRiDE values, mission, and vision drive us to create a broad and balanced curriculum tailored to meet the emotional, social, physical, and learning needs of all our students. We celebrate ‘difference’, recognise diversity as a strength, and strive to instil in our students understanding and mutual respect. We aim for every child to feel a sense of belonging and to be fully included in school life.

As we develop global citizens, we expect every child, including those with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND), to fully participate in all aspects of the curriculum and integrate into the Park House community. Our dedicated staff are committed to identifying learning difficulties through a referral process, and we seek outside agency support when needed.

However, while we always strive to cater to the needs of every student, it’s essential to understand that our facilities and expertise have limitations, and we may not be able to accommodate complex needs.

When a child is identified with barriers to learning, we highly value parental collaboration, which is crucial in helping us support their child’s educational journey. Failure to disclose a learning difficulty or special need, or if the school lacks sufficient resources and expertise to support the student’s needs, may result in the withdrawal of your child’s place at any stage.

We, therefore, stress the importance of home-school collaboration and transparent communication to ensure the best possible educational experience for every student.

If you have any questions regarding the above, please contact your child’s classroom teacher or school leadership team. We are here to help and support any way we can.
