Mr. Brian Allen arrived at Park House in 2016 with almost thirty years of teaching experience behind him. Born and educated in Belfast, Northern Ireland he graduated from Queen’s University with a degree in Physics. His initial training took place at Moray House, Edinburgh before embarking upon a short lived career as a physics teacher in Scotland and Cairo. He met his wife, Jill, in Egypt who persuaded him that his forte was in primary education, whereupon he retrained at Jordanhill College, Glasgow.
He is, therefore, in that rare category of teacher of having been trained in both primary and secondary education. Subsequent posts in Scotland, Oman, England, Venezuela, Poland, the Cayman Islands and latterly China mean that Mr Allen has had experiences of a number of educational environments and situations. Interests outside school lie mainly within his family although he does enjoy travelling, watching sport, trying to keep fit and is passionate about Irish rugby. Married to Jill, he has two sons, Tomas who works for Deloitte in Boston and Fergus who is studying Film Production in Vancouver.
