DIGITAL LEARNING & EDUCATION TECHNOLOGY

Digital Learning & Education Technology at Park House

At Park House English School, we embrace the reality that today’s students are digital natives. Technology is no longer an optional extra in education — it is a powerful driver of engagement, creativity, and personalised learning across all year groups.

Technology in the Classroom – From Primary to Secondary

In our EYFS and Primary sections, ICT is embedded across all subjects through a cross-curricular approach. We use iLearn2 to teach essential computing skills such as coding, digital presentations, e-safety, and more. This flexible, structured programme allows pupils to work at their own pace, revisit key learning, and develop independence as confident digital learners.

In Secondary, students build on this foundation through the use of advanced tools and subject-specific platforms. Whether they are conducting digital science investigations, designing media, or collaborating on shared documents, technology is integrated throughout the curriculum to deepen understanding and support high-level learning.

Artificial Intelligence in Learning

All pupils — from Primary through to Secondary — are now engaging with artificial intelligence (AI) tools to enhance their learning. AI provides instant feedback, offers tailored learning experiences, and helps students make informed decisions as digital citizens.

We believe that understanding how AI works and how it influences the world around us is vital for children of all ages. Teaching AI skills early promotes digital responsibility, critical thinking, and prepares our students for the careers and challenges of the future.

Facilities & Equipment

To support our digital learning goals, we provide:

  • Three ICT laboratories with internet and multimedia access
  • 3D printing equipment to support STEM and creative design
  • Chromebooks and iPads for classroom use (EYFS and Primary)
  • 65-inch interactive touchscreens in every Primary classroom

This high-quality infrastructure ensures that all children — regardless of age or ability — have access to the tools they need to succeed.

Beyond the Classroom: Competitions & ECAs

Digital learning doesn’t stop at the classroom door. Park House students regularly participate in international digital competitions, including the prestigious COBIS Coding & Minecraft Challenge. This exciting global event encourages innovation, teamwork, and creative problem-solving as students use coding skills to complete real-world challenges in a Minecraft environment. We are proud to take part every year, and our pupils always approach it with energy and enthusiasm.

We also offer coding ECAs (extra-curricular activities) for students interested in deepening their skills outside of lesson time. These sessions give learners the opportunity to explore programming, robotics, and game design in a fun, engaging, and collaborative setting — nurturing digital talent and creativity from an early age.

Connecting with Parents: Digital Safety at Home

We understand that staying safe online is a partnership between school and home. To support families, we run regular Park House Connect Sessions — a series of talks and webinars designed to inform parents about internet safety, digital wellbeing, and how to guide children in navigating the online world responsibly.

These sessions provide practical tips and the latest guidance to ensure our students remain safe, confident, and respectful digital citizens.

Looking Ahead: 1:1 Device Vision

Our next step is to launch a 1:1 device initiative in the secondary, each student will bring their own personal device. This will offer greater flexibility, ensure continuity between home and school learning, and prepare students for success in a connected, digital future.

More information to come out about this in the future!
