At Park House, we believe in nurturing students who have a clear sense of social responsibility and are aware of the role they play in protecting our environment. This is an important aspect of life at our school because it helps to develop empathy, resilience, and leadership in each of our students.

Green Day at Park House combines two important days which are celebrated worldwide and dedicated to environmental awareness – Earth Day in April and World Environment Day in June.

Our community came together and participated enthusiastically in Green Day. The level of effort that went into the pledges, posters, and costumes was outstanding and further highlighted our commitment to caring for our environment and creating a sustainable planet through recycling, reusing, or reducing the substances we use.

Our Eco Club and Parent School Association did a phenomenal job organising this special, extremely successful day. The Eco Club raised over QAR 5000, which will be effectively used in eco-initiatives for our school in the new academic year. We are extremely grateful to our community for their tremendous support of this vital campaign.

To start our Green Day campaign, we were delighted to welcome Mr Jose Saucedo, Director of Doha Environmental Action Project (DEAP), who held a virtual presentation for our students.  Mr Saucedo’s main mission is to raise public awareness of the environmental damage caused by plastic pollution and littering, and also to restore the natural beauty of Qatar. During the presentation, the students learned about marine life in Qatar, the global and local impact of plastic pollution, and practical things they can do on a daily basis to help mitigate the problem.

One of the main reasons that we celebrate Green Day is to educate and inspire our community to think about the environment and advocate partnerships that can further the idea of a sustainable green future. We are therefore very grateful to our Primary School Teacher, Mr Jon Gonzalez, for arranging the virtual visit and to Mr Saucedo for his informative presentation. We encourage you to read more about the remarkable work done by DEAP by clicking here

We are very proud of the work done by our Eco Club. This club empowers our students to participate in and take up meaningful environmental activities and projects. It is a forum through which students can influence and engage our community to promote behaviour that protects our environment.
