For the second year in a row, a Park House student has won first prize in the annual Qatar British Business Forum (QBBF) School Artwork Competition. The winning artwork appears as the front cover of the 2022 QBBF Directory. This year, in addition to winning the first prize, our students also claimed the runners-up prizes. Congratulations to Beatrice, the overall winner, and runners-up, Omnia and Sophie, for their amazing designs. We are thrilled with your outstanding accomplishments. British Ambassador, Mr Jon Wilkes, distributed their prizes and certificates at a special award ceremony held at the British Embassy that was also attended by Mr Emad Turkman, Chairman of QBBF.

When asked about the inspiration behind her design, Beatrice said, “Big Ben and the London Eye symbolise two of Britain’s key landmarks, and the pearls represent Qatar’s heritage. The teacup links the two countries as both nations enjoy drinking tea very much.”

A special thank you to our incredible art teachers, Miss Majella Shields, Head of Art, and Miss Rania Nahdi, for their continuous support and guidance. The Art Department at Park House English School promotes the development and practice of skills that provide visual awareness and conceptual thinking. Although Art can be a challenging and demanding subject, it is also enjoyable and rewarding, and we are happy to celebrate and share our students’ accomplishments and successes when their remarkable talents are recognised.
